Xabier Alberdi Lonbide (Zarautz, 18th May 1969), graduate in History from the University of Deusto (1992), Master in Management of Cultural Resources from the University of Deusto (1993) and Doctor in Modern History (University of the Basque Country, 2006), with the thesis Conflicts of interests in the Guipuzcoan maritime economy during the Modern Age. He is Director of the Research Section of the Albaola Association and Scientific Director of the Basque Maritime Museum of San Sebastián. He is currently working as a history consultant for the Town of Getaria and the Urola-Kosta region with the aim of organizing the 5th Centennial of the First Circumnavigation. Director of various historical-archaeological research projects, including the co-management of Placentia Island Project, Basque early presence in New England research project. He is the author of several publications including his doctoral thesis, Conflicts of interest in the Guipuzcoan maritime economy during the Modern Age, EHU-UPV, 2012 (Digital publication).
