Kangal KHYAPA

Kangal Khyapa is a renowned Baul musician, deeply rooted in the spiritual and mystical traditions of Bengal. Born in Joydev, near Santiniketan in the Birbhum district, he is widely regarded as one of the finest dotara players in India. Guided and inspired by his father, the legendary Baul singer Lt. Tarak Khyapa, Kangal began playing instruments at the age of seven. A talented singer and multi-instrumentalist, he is equally skilled at playing the khamak, ektara, dugi, tabla, and khol. His music, rich in themes such as devotion, love, and transcendence, reflects the essence of Baul philosophy. Kangal has captivated audiences not only in India but also in Sweden, Hungary, and the United Kingdom.
