Stranbej, chanteur et musicien virtuose, Rusan Filiztek est l’un des grands ambassadeurs de la musique traditionnelle kurde sur les scènes internationales. Pour Haizebegi, il réunit autour de lui des musiciens venus de différents horizons et des artistes yézidis pour une traversée musicale de la Mésopotamie à l’Andalousie, où les traditions se rencontrent, dialoguent et se réinventent.

For the past twelve years, Haizebegi has been creating a unique space where music, the social sciences, and civic engagement come together. Every fall in the Basque Country, artists, researchers, thinkers, and citizens gather to explore the power of music as a common language and as a catalyst for social change. More than just a festival, Haizebegi is a breath of fresh air, a collective experience that fosters dialogue between cultures and challenges the way we live together. Here, art blends with thought, concerts give way to discussions, and films extend the conversations.

The Basque Country and Iceland: A Shared Maritime History
Basque Country – Iceland: A Shared Maritime History The Baskasetur project, led by Haizebegi, gave rise in 2025 to a Basque cultural center in Iceland. This venue tells the story of the maritime ties that have connected the Basques and Icelanders for several centuries, centered on whaling, seafaring, and trade in the North Atlantic.
