The Haizebegi Encounters kicks off with a rare and precious moment: a recital by dotara, Bengal’s iconic stringed instrument, performed by Kangal Khyapa.
Son of the legendary Baul master Tarak Khyapa, Kangal masterfully and passionately carries on this mystical tradition, in which every note becomes a form of meditation. His playing, both subtle and spellbinding, evokes the spirit of the roads of Bengal and immerses the audience in the world of the Bauls, wandering poets and seekers of truth.
