Throughout the first part of the Haizebegi Festival, Yona Bernadas and Jérémy Casaux—students at EHESS, under the editorial direction of François Bensignor and with Rémy Salager assisting with online publishing—will share their daily experiences with you: impressions, interviews with artists, perspectives, and a spotlight on a hot-button issue. Here’s a bit about them.
Yona Bernadas

Yona Bernadas is beginning her second year of a master’s degree in sociology at EHESS. For the past year, she has been developing a research project there focused on the schooling of non-native-French-speaking students who have recently arrived in France within the UPE2A (Educational Units for Non-Native-French-Speaking Students) program. As a musician, she is interested in the role of music in human societies. She joined the Haizebegi festival to train in cultural journalism.
Jérémy Casaux

Jérémy Casaux is pursuing a Master’s degree in Political Studies at EHESS in Paris. His research has led him to specialize in the impact of the introduction of algorithms on surveillance systems in France. A native of Saint-Pierre d’Irube, Jérémy is a freelance journalist at Mediabask and hopes to eventually pursue a career in investigative journalism.
